As a graduate of the Medical Assisting program at Taylor College, you will gain valuable skills and training including:

  • Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Performing basic laboratory tests on the premises
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed
  • Phlebotomy
  • Performing electrocardiograms (ECG)

Clerical skills:

  • Updating and filing patient medical records

    A unique benefit of Taylor’s Medical Assisting program is the inclusion of phlebotomy training, which prepares students for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam, as well as ECG training, which prepares students for the Certified EKG Technician exam.
