Director of Nursing

Job Summary
The responsibilities of the Nursing Program Director are to provide leadership in the planning, direction, and evaluation of all Nursing programs (Professional or Practical) in accordance with the mission and academic standards of Taylor College as well as the rules and regulations of the Florida Board of Nursing. Major responsibilities for the Program Director include teaching, professional development, and college services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates organizational effectiveness in nursing education.
  • Implements strategies for organizational change.
  • Oversees the training, accuracy, and performance of all faculty members within the program.
  • Develops and maintains an environment conducive to the teaching/learning process.
  • Manages faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation.
  • Establishes and evaluates clinical sites.
  • Collect and reviews data each semester with faculty and advisory board members.
  • Uses assessment and evaluation data to enhance the teaching-learning process.
  • Completes instructor ATI training modules within specified time.
  • Proctors ATI exams.
  • Adheres to the Core Competencies of Nursing Educators through the National League of Nursing guidelines.

Position Requirements

  • Must have an active Registered Nursing license (RN) OR eligible to be licensed in the state of Florida.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Must have at least 3 - 5 years of experience in academic, clinical, or administrative nursing OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to travel to and from clinical sites.
  • Must be able to implement Nursing faculty committee meetings.
  • Experience with presenting information to both small and large groups.
  • Proven strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Nursing Instructor

Job Summary
The responsibilities of the Professional Nursing Faculty are to develop a healthy and caring environment that offers a variety of opportunities for active participation by the students in the learning process. Major responsibilities of faculty include teaching, tutoring, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum; utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
  • Maintains expertise in field of study and responsibilities and their performance reflects scholarship and evidence-based teaching in clinical practices.
  • Completes instructor ATI training modules within specified time.
  • Proctor ATI exams.
  • Demonstrates procedures in nursing skills laboratory, supervise student demonstrations and evaluate student performances.
  • Orientates students to the clinical site and communicates clinical objectives to the student and the staff.

Position Requirements

  • Must have an active Registered Nurses license (RN) OR eligible to be licensed in the state of Florida.
  • Must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Must have a minimum 2-3 years of clinical and/or teaching experience. Clinical teaching experience may be accepted in lieu of teaching experience in an academic setting.
  • Ability to travel to and from clinical or class sites.
  • Ability to travel to and from professional meetings and conferences.
  • Ability to implement nursing faculty meeting minutes.
  • Experience with presenting information to both small and large groups.
  • Proven strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
